KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Aimal Wali Khan on Tuesday said that half of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lacks police writ.

He was talking to the media during the 'Meet the Press' programme of the Karachi Press Club.

Khan claimed that Taliban and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are like two sides of the same coin.

He also claimed that the PTI is like the political wing of Taliban.

He warned that lawlessness in KP would affect the rest of the country and create heinous repercussions.

He said the ANP is in favour of forming a federal constitutional court.

He remarked that importance was given to cases that were praised in the media.

'This practice should come to an end, as people pass away while waiting to get justice in their cases.'

The ANP chief opined that a new constitutional court having representation of all the regions of the country, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, should be formed.

He said they had rendered sacrifices for the protection of the country without any gain.

He suggested that the state should acknowledge its mistakes.

He said the ANP is currently a part of neither the government nor the opposition.

'The government and the opposition both are fake because the will of the people of Pakistan is being ignored.'

He also said that it is strange that the PTI had refused to accept the results of the general elections in three provinces but declared that polls were transparently held in KP, resulting in Ali Amin Gandapur becoming the chief minister.

The ANP chief suggested that the government reduce its extravagant expenditures to alleviate Pakistan's debt burden.

He also suggested that Pakistan improve its ties with its neighbouring countries and promote mutual trade with them.Replying to a question, he said the ANP can never join hands with the PTI.

He also claimed that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has become a patron of the PTI. The PTI's politics is now incomplete without this newfound patron, he concluded.
