ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing a notice to the Prime Minister (PM) through the principal secretary, has sought reply to a petition against the reappointment of HEC chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmad.
The IHC issued notice to the federation through the ministry of education and Dr Mukhtar. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb while issuing notice to respondents sought reply until October 1. According to the counsel of the petitioner, the HEC chairman could not be appointed again to the post and he cannot be reappointed till such time he participates in a competition process and proves his capability. According to the counsel advertisement for newspapers was issued in connection with appointment against the post of HEC chairman but it was stopped without any process. According to the petitioner, the notification regarding reappointment of Dr Mukhtar came after stopping the process. It is not correct as per rules, he argued.
