Trade ties with British officials discussed

Islamabad:The officials from the British Government, including Oliver Christian (Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan and Consul General to Dubai), Sarah Mooney (Deputy High Commissioner Karachi & UK Trade Director for Pakistan), and Hamed Kamal (Deputy Trade Director) held a meeting with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, chief executive officer of the Centaurus Group, and Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan, president of the group, says a press release.

The meeting’s agenda focused on fostering trade promotion, forging investment opportunities, and boosting tourism.Discussions centred on promoting trade, identifying business opportunities, and fostering mutual cooperation. Key topics included generating employment opportunities, attracting foreign direct investments, and exploring Pakistan’s potential across various sectors. A substantial emphasis was placed on tourism, highlighting the numerous investment opportunities and the imperative to promote Pakistan’s tourism industry on an international scale.

Yasir underscored the significance of the United Kingdom as one of Pakistan’s prominent trade partners, with an annual trade volume approximating £4 billion. This partnership presents substantial opportunities for expansion through the exploration of additional sectors.
