UOE, UET VCs assume charge

LAHORE:Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry assumed the charge of Vice Chancellor, University of Education (UOE) here on Tuesday.

Previously, Prof Aqif Anwar Chaudhry was serving as a Professor of Biomaterials and Head of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Biomedical Materials at COMSATS University. Dr Aqif has published more than 80 research papers and has led research & development of several million dollars. In 2008, he obtained the degree of PhD in Biomaterials from Queen Mary University of London, UK. Meanwhile, Prof Dr Shahid Munir also took charge as the 19th Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET). Deans, heads of academic and administrative departments, and faculty members, warmly welcomed Dr Shahid Munir.

On this occasion, Dr Shahid Munir expressed his pride in being chosen to lead Pakistan's oldest engineering university. He pledged to use all his skills to enhance the academic environment at UET while strengthening the UET financially. He emphasised that serving the UET community in the areas of research and development, providing educational facilities to students, and promoting a research-driven culture would be among his top priorities.

PUASA felicitates VC

A delegation of PUASA called upon the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Muhammad Ali at his office here Tuesday. PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali detailed his vision for the development of the university.

PUASA President Dr Amjad Magsi, representing the university teachers, congratulated the VC and assured him of full cooperation on behalf of the university teachers. Meanwhile, presiding over a meeting held at university Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that justice and merit were key elements of his policy.
