The tragic death of a doctor from Umerkot, Sindh last week, has profoundly shaken the fabric of our province. He was killed under highly suspicious circumstances, without any due process. This incident raises the alarming possibility that anyone could face a similar fate without the protection of a fair trial. Although some senior police officers have been suspended, this is not enough.
This situation has left our society divided, but the priority must be to ensure that justice is served. A thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding this death is essential. It is only through legal accountability that we can restore public trust in our judicial system.
