LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PMLN President Nawaz Sharif met with US Ambassador Donald Blome in Lahore on Monday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, the promotion of Pakistan-US relations, and cooperation in various fields were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, CM Maryam Nawaz said, “Pakistan and the United States enjoy excellent and cordial relations, and we are committed to further strengthening them. There is immense potential in Pakistan-US trade, which needs to be utilised. The government has achieved remarkable progress in several sectors in a short time. Pakistan is now more secure and peaceful compared to the past.”
The CM said, “The PMLN government has set new benchmarks for good governance and transparency. Pakistan has made significant strides in the fight against terrorism and extremism.” US Ambassador Donald Blome and US Consul General Kristin Hawkins discussed increasing trade opportunities between Pakistan and the United States.
They also explored ways to enhance investment opportunities, keeping future needs in mind, and to further strengthen relations between the people of both nations. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, and other officials were also present.
Maryam Nawaz, in a special message on the 94th National Day of Saudi Arabia, congratulated the people of Saudi Arabia, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
In her message, CM Maryam Nawaz said, “Saudi Arabia holds a special place in the heart of every Pakistani. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are deeply connected through shared beliefs, culture, and traditions. The strong foundation of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations is built on mutual respect and devotion to the Holy Harmain Sharifain.”
The CM said, “Saudi Arabia is the spiritual centre for Pakistan.” On the occasion of the 94th National Day, the chief minister praised Saudi Arabia’s vision, encapsulated in the phrase: ‘We dream and we achieve it.’
She emphasised that Saudi Arabia is regarded as an elder brother to Pakistan, and its unwavering support during difficult times has been exceptional. “The Holy Haram remains the focal point of devotion and love for Muslims worldwide,” she concluded.
