ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain has demanded the Supreme Court (SC) release a detailed decision in the Mubarik Sani case soon, stating that the entire nation is awaiting the detailed verdict.
“Faith in the Finality of Prophethood is a fundamental component of every Muslim’s belief,” he said at a meeting, attended by religious scholars on Monday. He said true leaders of the faith are scholars and saints, not those who rebel against the state with arms.
“To provide a secure future for the new generation, the government, institutions, and scholars must work together. If the scholars convey a message of unity and solidarity, it will have a significant impact and deliver a strong message,” he added.
He said consultations with scholars and leaders of other religions were under way to eliminate terrorism. He said scholars and saints had completely rejected the narrative of extremists and terrorists in the country.
“We must block the path of those who incite people to terrorism by misusing Islam and religion. Any person or organisation that raises arms against the state is a terrorist,” he said. “We must unite against the curse of terrorism for the sake of our country,” the minister said.
Those who attended the meeting included Hafiz Farooq Awan from Jamiat Ahle-Hadith, member Islamic Ideological Council Agha Iftikhar Naqvi, Director General of the International Islamic University Professor Ziaul-Haq, and Maulana Imran Attari.
