When I had a poetry collection written by Shereen Hayat Tum Meray Kia Ho in my hands I began to devour it naturally poem after poem.
She delivers sweet, vulnerable, and painful poems that cover everything from the brutality of heartbreak to the darker and lonely side of a person to the truth of one’s love. I was surprised to read some of the poems because even though they may have seemed very simple, I found them to be an easy read that kept my attention. I wanted to keep reading the poet’s thoughts after I had turned the last page.
In all honesty, when it comes to rating books of poetry, I give my honest opinions about it. After all, she is releasing personal thoughts and observations from the intimacy of her lover to come along and just plainly say, ‘Well, I love you. I think when it comes to poetry, some readers feel connected with it as they see their own life experiences through the words and diction of the poet. They deeply feel the emotions described in the poems as they read them.
You do not have to be a fan of Sheeren Hayat to enjoy her poetry. Whatever your opinion may be, as an avid poetry lover, not a critic or anything similar, I think that every kind of reader would enjoy ‘Tum Meray Kia Ho’. There are neither secret messages behind her words, nor complex things to understand. They are, instead, simple, straightforward, and full of meanings and fit perfectly into our everyday lives. In addition, even if you have not experienced some feelings or situations, the poet can deliver what she and other people felt and that is honestly amazing.
