LAHORE: Aoun Ali emerged victorious in the Gilgit-Baltistan Mini Marathon while Zaimuddin secured the second position, and Zainul Abidin claimed the third spot.
Brigadier (Retd) Wajahat Hussain, the President of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, presented the awards to the athletes. Colonel (Retd) Karim Shah, President of the Gilgit-Baltistan Athletics Association, and Secretary General Sikandar Mirza were also present at the event.
The first-place winner was awarded Rs. 40,000, the second-place finisher received Rs. 30,000, and the third-place winner was given Rs. 20,000. The athletes who secured the fourth and fifth positions were each awarded Rs. 5,000.
Organised jointly by the Athletics Federation of Pakistan and the Gilgit-Baltistan Athletics Association, the mini marathon commenced at the City Park, Gilgit, and concluded at the same point after covering a specified distance. A large number of citizens participated in the race. Aoun Ali showcased exceptional performance and won the marathon, followed by Zaimuddin and Zainul Abidin.
