Man attempts suicide after shooting dead wife in Lyari

A man allegedly killed his wife and injured another woman and himself in the Lyari area on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

Police said the incident took place near Quba Masjid in Lyari within the limits of the Kalri police station.

Following the incident, police and rescuers reached the property and transported the casualties to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where an injured woman succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Sunday.

The deceased woman was identified as 20-year-old Sahiba. Police said she was shot dead by her husband Ghulam Rasool.

The suspect first shot and injured a woman, Bilquis, and a man, Yar Muhammad, in the street and then went to his house where he first shot his wife and then also shot himself. He was injured as a result of shooting.

Police stated that Rasool was suffering from psychological issues. Further investigations are under way.
