Sewing, embroidery kits distributed in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: Qatar Charity, a non-government organisation, distributed sewing and embroidery kits worth millions of rupees to over three dozen women at the Technical College in Charsadda, aiming to equip them with skills for financial stability and empowerment.
The event, attended by notable figures including Principal Afsha Ambreen, was part of the charity’s broader initiative to support women’s skill development. Sajjad Khan, coordinator for Qatar Charity, emphasised on the importance of empowering women for societal progress.
He highlighted that women make up half of the population, and without their involvement, society cannot advance. The recipients of the sewing kits are expected to establish skill centres at their homes to train other women, creating a ripple effect in the community.
Speakers at the event stressed the need to provide market access for products made by these skilled women. The deputy commissioner announced plans to activate the Women’s Chamber of Commerce to support this initiative, ensuring that women’s efforts contribute to the local economy. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Qatar Charity for the assistance, hoping that this support would help them achieve financial independence and uplift their families.
