PESHAWAR: The police in Lakki Marwat district have issued a list of 73 terrorists and extortionists involved in attacks on police and other terrorist activities in the district in recent years.
An official informed that the list included some top commanders, terrorists and facilitators who were wanted by the police for a long time. District Police Officer Taimur Khan confirmed issuing the list of terrorists in the district.
Police have been directed to pursue the terrorist commanders, extortionists and their facilitators with the support from locals and other forces.In recent years, Lakki Marwat has witnessed a surge in attacks targeting police, security personnel, and civilians. These escalating threats prompted the policemen to stage a four-day sit-in, demanding increased manpower and resources to combat the violence.
The government and police authorities assured the provision of more facilities, including armoured vehicles and gadgets, to protect them from everyday attacks. As a result, the sit-in was called off.
