LAHORE:Stability in the prices of vegetables and fruits has been witnessed in official rate list this week, but it did not benefit the consumers because of violation of official rate list by the sellers.
The district administration keeps asking consumers to register their complaints against overcharging, but it does not take measures to implement official rates. Milk, yogurt, meat, grains and pulses are being sold at higher than official rates.
This week price of chicken was inched up by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs397-411 per kg, sold at Rs460-480 per kg and chicken meat fixed at Rs595 per kg, and sold Rs670-1000 per kg. The price of potato sugar free A-grade increased by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade further declined by Rs11 per kg, fixed at Rs116-124 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs104-110 per kg, and C-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, mixed sold at Rs125-150 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs112-120 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg, B-grade by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs94-100 per kg, and C-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs80-85per kg, mixed sold at Rs150-180 per kg. The price of garlic local unchanged at Rs370-385 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Garlic Harnai reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs405-425 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety further increased by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs205-215 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China unchanged at Rs520-540 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg. Biter gourd unchanged at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs200-220 per kg. The price Spinach also unchanged at Rs67-70 at Rs100-120 per kg.
Zucchini local was reduced by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs165-170 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg. The lemon Chinese was fixed at Rs340-355 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg. Pumpkin was further declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.
Green chili price A-grade further gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg, B-grade by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg. Capsicum price was further increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs240-260 per kg.
Coriander was sold at Rs40 per bundle. Sweet Pumpkin reduced by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs65-68 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Mangoes unripe fixed at Rs75-78 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg.
Beans was fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. The price of different variety of apples further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs100-230 per kg, sold at Rs150-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category further declined by Rs5 per doze, fixed at Rs135-140 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs95-100 per dozen, sold at Rs130-150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs67-70 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.
Pomegranate desi was unchanged at Rs265-275 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, pomegranate kandahari reduced by Rs5 per kg, was fixed at Rs300-310 per kg, sold at Rs400-450, pomegranate danaydar was fixed at Rs255-265 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg. Dates Irani unchanged at Rs430-460 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1400 per kg. Papaya declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs195-205 per kg, sold at Rs230-300 per kg.
