WhatsApp, Insta outages reported across Pakistan
Some media reports said that users of a few mobile providers also faced significant disruptions in their data internet access
KARACHI: Social media services, including WhatsApp and Instagram, experienced widespread outages across Pakistan on Saturday, leaving users unable to access key features.
The outages were reported by Downdetector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and apps, and are reported to have started in the morning.
Some media reports said that users of a few mobile providers also faced significant disruptions in their data internet access. Users reported that they faced issues while sending voice messages on WhatsApp or downloading media on WhatsApp when using mobile internet. While the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has not issued any formal statement regarding Saturday’s reported disruptions, there has been consistent reporting of internet disruption over the past months in the country.
