150 PU students awarded degrees

LAHORE : The degree-awarding ceremony of the Punjab University’s Institute of Botany was held here on Saturday in which more than 150 students of PhD, MS, MPhil and BS Botany were presented degrees. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood was the chief guest at the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood said that the promotion of research was necessary to solve the problems faced by the world. He further said that the Department of Botany is the oldest institution in Pakistan. Director Institute of Botany Prof Dr Abdul Nasir Khalid, faculty members and students attended the ceremony.
