Three-day Tablighi Ijtema begins in Chitral
CHITRAL: A three-day Tablighi Ijtema (preaching congregation) commenced on Saturday at the Chitral Polo Ground.
The event has drawn a large number of participants, not only from Chitral but also from various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The gathering is aimed at promoting religious teachings and fostering a spirit of unity among the attendees.
Arrangements have been made for the congregation, including provision for food, lodging, and ablution facilities. The polo ground has been transformed into the central venue for the congregation adjacent to the Jamia Mosque. Hundreds of tents have been erected to accommodate the participants.
As attendees continue to arrive, the atmosphere in the main hall is filled with a spiritual fervour. Many are engaged in prayers and religious reflection.
The central mosque will serve as the venue for the five times’ prayers, while speeches will be delivered from the stage. For meals, a dedicated area has been set up, where a team is preparing and distributing food to the attendees. Tickets for meals are available at a counter, with simple yet affordable menu options.
Sheikh Fazal Waheed, in charge of the food arrangements, said that a tray of rice was priced at Rs100, meat dish at Rs100, and vegetable or lentil dishes at Rs50. The cost of bread has been set at Rs30. In addition to the spiritual aspects of the event, several stalls offering various items have been set up at a distance from the main venue.
Special facilities for ablution have been arranged, ensuring ease of access for the attendees. To manage the crowd, vehicular entry through the main gate of the polo ground has been restricted.
