SWABI: Former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders were determined to hold the Lahore jalsa on Saturday (today) at any cost.

Addressing a public gathering at Gulu Dheri, he said the PTI was striving to work for an independent judiciary and a true democratic system. He said no one could stop them from pursuing their struggle.

About the constitutional amendments, he said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People's Party and their allies wanted to impose civilian martial law in the country.

However, he said that the PTI would foil such conspiracies with the help of JUIF leader Maulana Fazalur Rehman.

“The draft of the constitutional amendments that was given to Akhtar Mangal and Maulana Fazlur Rehman were different from each other as the original copy of the amendments was with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,” he said while castigating the PPP leader for what he termed undemocratic forces to bulldoze 1973 Constitution.

He said these people called themselves champions of democracy and claimed that they were the creators of the 1973 constitution.

He also criticized ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan and said where his claim about their struggle for true democratic order had gone.
