Ordinance to amend SC Practice, Procedure Act on the cards
In absence of committee member, CJP will be able to nominate judge as member of committee

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to bring the Practice and Procedure Amendment Ordinance.
According to sources, through this ordinance, the power of Chief Justice to appoint cases will be increased. In the absence of a committee member, the Chief Justice will be able to nominate a judge as a member of the committee.
A three-member committee constitutes the benches under the Practice and Procedure Act. The sources said the Ministry of Law has prepared the Practice and Procedure Amendment Ordinance and sent it to the cabinet.
