Pakistan out of title race in Asian U12 Tennis

FAISALABAD: Pakistan were eliminated from the race to claim the Asian Under-12 Tennis Championship title after a 3-0 defeat to Indonesia in the quarterfinals. The team will now compete for rankings between fifth and eighth place.

In the first singles match, Indonesia’s Bagus Wahyu Purnama Komang secured a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Rashid Ali of Pakistan, wrapping up the match in 56 minutes. The second singles match saw Shayan Muhammad of Pakistan fall to Indonesia’s Ethan Jake Frans, who triumphed 6-2, 6-2 in just over an hour. In the doubles match, the Pakistani pair of Muhammad Junaid Khan and Rashid Ali faced Komang and Frans, but could not mount a challenge, losing 6-1, 6-0 in 47 minutes. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had recorded wins against Saudi Arabia and Thailand in the group stage.
