KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Muhammad Zohaib Khan has announced that the IT industry across Pakistan has elected a new 10-member central executive committee (CEC) for the 2024-2026 term.
The tenure of the outgoing CEC will end on September 30, 2024, according to a press release issued on Thursday. Secretary General of P@SHA Nadeem Malik announced the results following the vote counting conducted in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The election for the apex IT body’s office bearers will take place on September 23, 2024. The new office bearers and CEC of P@SHA will officially take charge on October 1, 2024.
Zohaib Khan, the outgoing chairman, welcomed the newly elected CEC, highlighting their role as torchbearers for one of the most promising and rapidly developing industries, which achieved a record $3.2 billion in exports in FY24.
The Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) has represented the IT and IT-enabled services sector since 1992. Its mandate is to collaborate with the government on policy issues and with other stakeholders to promote the IT sector, as well as to provide platforms that create more opportunities for members of the ecosystem, both domestically and internationally.
P@SHA is the only entity in the Pakistani IT industry that is globally registered with and recognized by institutions such as the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (Wista), the Asian Oceanic Computing Industry Organization (Asocio), the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (Apicta), and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
