Newly launched party chief wants inclusive society
PESHAWAR: The chairman of the newly launched Pakistan Khidmat-e-Khalq League, Rafaqat Hussain, has said his party will work for an inclusive society where all citizens enjoy equal rights.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club Thursday, along with other office-bearers, he unveiled his party’s manifesto. He believed that real independence as envisioned by the country’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was yet to be achieved. Explaining his point, he said Quaid-e-Azam’s vision had two key components, liberating the nation from Colonial rule and establishing a governance framework rooted in Islamic principles and Pakistani cultural values.
Rafaqat Hussain said the first goal had been achieved but not the second, adding his party laid stress on both faith and heritage. He called for introducing a new education system that aligned with Islamic teachings and cultural values.
Rafaqat Hussain said the second focus of his party was the legal system. “The current legal framework has gone outdated as it was introduced by the Colonial powers to maintain control over the masses,” he said while calling for legal reforms as no country could prosper without comprehensive legal reforms.
