PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has come down hard on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and described him as “Vela Munda”(idle man).
Speaking to the media at the launch of “Ikhtiyar Awam Ka” portal, Gandapur accused the governor of being out of touch with the responsibilities of his office.
He stated that Governor Kundi was appointed without merit, saying, “Kundi was made the governor through a recommendation and he can’t absorb the respect that comes with his position.”
Gandapur added that if the Governor’s House is vacated, Kundi would either have to move into an annexe or rent a house.
The chief minister criticised the appointment of a PPP member as governor, claiming KP was being used as a testing ground for political experiments.
Answering a question about the Afghan consul general who did not stand when Pakistan’s national anthem was played at an official ceremony, the chief minister said the Afghan officials had already explained their stance on this issue and there was no question of showing disrespect. “There’s no issue of disrespect towards our anthem. The Afghan Taliban have a strict policy regarding music and songs, which is why they have even banned their own national anthem,” the chief minister explained. Earlier, the chief minister launched an innovative portal “Ikhtiyar Awam Ka” as an important initiative towards promoting good governance and addressing public issues in the province.
