Islamabad: The federal education ministry has unveiled details of the Girls' Sports Carnival slated to take place from October 17 to 19 in Islamabad.
According to officials, the event is meant to encourage sports participation among girls and offer them a stage to display their abilities. Around 5,000 girls from across the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will compete in individual and team sports.
They will be selected from all provinces and regions to ensure broad national representation. With the festival featuring top-quality facilities and infrastructure, the sports events include track and field, basketball, football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and tennis. The officials said the ministry was committed to empowering girls through sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle. They said the festival would enhance sports participation among girls and motivate them to engage in physical activities, provide a platform to them to demonstrate their talents and skills, cultivate a spirit of competition and teamwork among them, and promote national unity.
