LAHORE:Lahore Traffic Police have finalised comprehensive traffic arrangements for 12 Rabi ul Awwal events ensuring smooth traffic management for the convenience of commuters.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore SSP Ammara Athar said that a detailed traffic plan has been developed to manage the large number of participants expected at multiple events and gatherings.
The traffic plan includes the deployment of three DSPs, 18 inspectors, and 158 wardens, working across three shifts. Breakdown and forklift services have also been arranged to manage any vehicular issues. Importantly, no road will be completely closed to traffic, and citizens will be kept informed via FM channels, the Rasta app, and electronic and social media platforms. The CTO urged the masses to follow traffic wardens’ guidance and contact the 15 helpline for any assistance.
In a separate event, traffic arrangements for the torch-bearing procession, which will start from Data Darbar and proceed via Mall Road to Regal Chowk, have also been completed. The procession will be supervised by SP Munir Hashmi, with the deployment of two DSPs, 14 inspectors, and 169 traffic wardens. The CTO confirmed that no roads will be entirely closed, and traffic will be reopened immediately after the procession passes each junction.
