A sessions court has issued a notice to the SSP Complaint Cell (West/Keamari) to submit a report on an application seeking registration of an FIR against K-Electric officials over prolonged loadshedding.
Hussan Bano, a lawyer, filed the application under Section 22-A and -B of the Criminal Procedure Code, seeking directives for the Jackson SHO to record her statement and lodge a case against the power company's top officials over power cuts in Bhutta Village in Masaan, Keamari.
After the initial hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Sohail Ahmed Mashoori issued a notice to the SSP Complaint Cell (West/Keamari) to submit a report on the next hearing set for September 20.
The woman stated that for the past few days, her area had been experiencing prolonged power outages of 18-12 hours. She said that when she contacted the company's helpline, she was told that the electricity supply had been cut off due to non-payment of bills by some people in the locality.
The applicant contended that the residents were facing immense difficulties due to power cuts, including water shortages. The lack of power and water had made it impossible for woman to carry out home chores and locals were unable to use washrooms, and children are struggling to study and complete their homework.
