The Sindh government has taken strict action following the reported negligence in the security and arrangements for polio workers in Jacobabad.
On the charges of negligence, the provincial government has removed the Jacobabad deputy commissioner (DC), senior superintendent of police (SSP) and district health officer (DHO) from their positions.
In an official notification, the Jacobabad SSP was directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO), while the Jacobabad DC was told to report to the services, general administration and coordination department. The DHA was also relieved of his duties due to lapse in ensuring the safety of polio workers. The Sindh government said it remained committed to ensuring the safety of polio workers and would not tolerate any lapses in this regard.
