Public hostels exist to facilitate students who either cannot afford expensive private hostels and/or those hailing from the rural areas. I am a student who resides in one such hostel but may not for much longer as the authorities have issued a notification seeking our removal from the hostel because they want to accommodate female students from some other college. Our hostel has around 100 students who will now have nowhere to go. Why is the future of 100 students being put at risk?
There is an urgent need to look into this matter. The relevant authorities and government should intervene and solve this problem by constructing a new hostel instead of forcing us out.
