The consulate general of Malaysia in Karachi has announced successful conclusion of the ‘Jom! Malaysia Chalo!’ event that was held at the Dolmen Mall in Clifton from September 13 till September 15.
The three-day event showcased Malaysia’s higher education opportunities, tourism offerings and cultural richness, drawing significant attention from the public.
The programme featured exhibitions from 12 prominent Malaysian higher education institutions, providing Pakistani students and families with valuable insights into academic programmes, scholarships and study opportunities in Malaysia. The varsity exhibitions were overseen by Novie Tajjuddin, CEO of the Malaysian government’s Education Malaysia Global Services.
Additionally, the Tourism Malaysia and Batik Air presented travel experiences and affordable flight options between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
An official launch ceremony was held where traditional Malaysian cultural performances captivated the audience, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia.
During the inaugural ceremony, Herman Hardynata Ahmad, consul general of Malaysia in Karachi, delivered a speech expressing appreciation to all the participants, partners and attendees.
He acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia relations. "This event serves as a testament to Malaysia's unwavering commitment to deepening our ties with Pakistan, particularly in the areas of education and tourism. We are proud to showcase Malaysia as a prime destination for Pakistani students and travelers," he remarked.
The event attracted a diverse crowd, including students, families, travellers and members of the business community.
The consulate general of Malaysia in Karachi has extended its deepest gratitude to all those involved in making the event a success and looks forward to organising more similar events.
