Two killed as tractor-trolley overturns

NOWSHERA: A man and his grandson were killed when a tractor-trolley loaded with steel rods overturned on the Khairabad-Nizampur Road here on Sunday.

It was learnt that the man, Qasim and his grandson Azan, 14, son of Mohammad Ali, had bought the steel rods and had hired the tractor-trolley to transport the stuff. The tractor-trolley was on its way when it overturned at the railway crossing near the Khairabad bridge while climbing a slope. Qasim and his grandson, who were also traveling in the tractor-trolley, were trapped under the vehicle and died on the spot.

The local people pulled out the bodies from under the vehicle and took them to the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex.The driver of the tractor, who remained unhurt in the accident, fled the scene out of fear.
