MoU signed to promote research
PESHAWAR: A memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Peshawar and Geological Survey of Pakistan - Geosciences Advanced Research Laboratories (GSP-GARL) to promote research exchange and provision of internship opportunities for students.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Qazi from University of Peshawar and Director General, GSP-GARL, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad signed the agreement. Presenting the case for mutual agreement Prof Dr Bushra Khan, Director Planning and Development, informed that the agreement will bolster the research exchange, collaboration and resources besides students’ internship opportunities.
Focal person from University of Peshawar Dr Sajjad Ahmad elaborated the agreement that researchers will feel easy in utilizing laboratories from both institutions, minimizing time lag, besides holding joint workshops and conferences.
The vice chancellor termed the agreement as another achievement of the Geology department.
Director General GSP-GARL briefed the university officials that GARL are state of art laboratories in Islamabad established by the government of Japan. He said that GARL facilities would be extended to the University of Peshawar at subsidized rates.
