IGP pins badges on 28 cops

LAHORE : Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab pinned new rank badges on the shoulder of 28 officers who were promoted to DSP from inspectors.

In the Central Police Office, a ceremony was held to place new badges on 28 officers who were promoted from Inspector to DSP. Parents, children and families of the promoted DSPs participated in the ceremony.

IGP said that more than 1,500 departmental promotions were going to be done this year in various cadres and positions. Board of promotion of more than 80 sub-inspectors to inspector post will be held soon, he added.

Rs2.2m released for cops’ medical treatment

IGP Dr Usman Anwar has released Rs2.2 million for medical treatment of four police personnel serving in Lahore and various other districts. Details include Rs1 million granted to senior traffic warden Mustaqeem Khan of Rawalpindi for liver cancer treatment, Rs150,000 to Sub-Inspector Qasim Abbas of Lahore Police for stroke treatment, Rs100,000 to PHP ASI Muhammad Nawaz for a backbone problem, and Rs1m to Ghazi Constable Ali Jan of Kasur Police for medical expenses. The welfare committee, under the supervision of the Additional IG Welfare and Finance, reviewed and scrutinized welfare cases from different districts.
