‘Youth Affairs Dept focusing on timely completion of projects’

LAHORE : Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial said that Punjab Youth Affairs Department is utilising all resources for the timely completion of its projects across the province.

He said this while presiding over an important meeting of Departmental Scrutiny Committee at Punjab Stadium. The progress of 30 under-construction sports projects were reviewed in detail in the meeting. Director General Youth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal also attended the important meeting. Besides him, Additional Secretary Farhan Farooq, Project Director PMU Qaiser Raza, Deputy Director Tariq Khanzada, Planning Officer Sania Sajid and Section Officer Finance Department Samina Jameel participated in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Muzaffar Khan Sial said that most of the construction work has been completed on six sports projects, including Sports Medicine Clinic Lahore, Football Ground Muridke, Tehsil Sports Complex Chunian, Kahuta Gymnasium Hall and Dhobi Ghaat Football Ground Murree. He directed the officials concerned to complete the remaining construction work on these projects as early as possible. Sial directed the officers concerned to personally review the construction work of 24 under construction projects and submit a report within a time span of 15 days. “Any negligence in the construction of these sports projects will not be tolerated,” he added. He said Youth Affairs Dept is taking all possible measures for the development of sports culture across the province. “We are quite upbeat that these sports projects will help a lot in promoting healthy activities among the younger generation of the province,” he asserted.
