Vigilante epidemic

It is alarming to witness individuals taking the law into their own hands and committing heinous crimes, including murder. The recent incident in which a police official in Quetta killed an individual accused of blasphemy while in custody is a stark illustration of this problem. This phenomenon has become increasingly normalized, with various politically motivated groups tacitly endorsing such actions. Instead of taking the law into their own hands, individuals should focus on reforming the justice system to ensure swift and fair prosecution of suspects.

The existence of extremist voices in positions of power undermines efforts to prosecute those who take the law into their own hands. It is imperative to condemn such brutal acts and allow the law to take its course, ensuring that justice is served through due process, rather than vigilante mobs.

A suspect accused of blasphemy was brutally killed by a policeman in Quetta while in custody earlier this week. This incident is a reminder of the dangers of allowing emotions to cloud our judgment and the importance of upholding rule of law. We cannot allow ourselves to be swayed by mob mentality or personal biases. We have a robust legal framework in place and courts are already available to investigate and adjudicate such cases based on evidence and due process. This brazen act of vigilantism sets a perilous precedent, encouraging others to follow suit and further eroding public trust in our institutions.

We must recognize that the courts are the sole arbiters of justice, and their verdicts should be respected and upheld. Anything less would be a betrayal of the principles of justice and equality enshrined in our constitution. It is imperative that all citizens, including law-enforcement officials, respect the rule of law and allow justice to take its course. Only through the lawful and impartial application of justice can we hope to maintain peace, order, and stability in our society.
