MINGORA: An irrigation channel damaged in the 2022 floods in Bahrain tehsil in Swat was rebuilt and restored by the Community Resilience Activity-North (CRA-N).

Additional Assistant Commissioner Bahrain Ahmed Sher, Mohammad Ayub of Irrigation, Tehsil Chairman Mian Shahid Ali, Syed Jafar Shah, and local elders attended the ceremony.

The CRA-N has completed five projects in Bahrain.

The irrigation channel was destroyed by the flash floods in 2022 due to which the local farmers suffered as their fields had become barren.

The administrators of CRA-North said five such projects had been completed in Bahrain. These two projects were completed in Matta. Besides this, the people were trained in three villages of Cherbat, Shagai, and Paklai in Bahrain. Around 15 men from each village participated in the training.

At the same time, women were also trained on the possible dangers of floods and how to avoid them while adopting preventive measures.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Bahrain Ahmad Sher lauded the CRA North for executing the projects in the area.

Mohammad Ayub Khan from the Irrigation Department said the restoration of water channels would greatly benefit the local growers.
