SUKKUR: District and Session Judge Jacobabad ordered constitution of JIT to investigate the sexual assault on female polio worker.
District and Session Judge Jacobabad after taking notice of the incident summoned SSP Jacobabad, SHO and the victim on Friday. The SSP said that neither any male or female police constable deputed/deployed with victim as the DHO had not demanded security. The SHO pointed out that initially the victim complained about a robbery attempt. Following her complaint FIR No:45/2024 U/S 393,506/2 PPC was lodged at Ps Mouladad.
He told the court that subsequently on Friday she accused Ahmed Jakhrani of raping her on gunpoint.
In her statement to the court, the victim confirmed the incident and told the court that she along with a male colleague were taken hostage in an empty house village Allah Bakhash Jakhrani. At that house accused Ahmad Jakhrani allegedly sexually assaulted and left after she fell unconscious. She told the judge that her colleague informed the DHO and DC Jacobabad who shifted her to JIMS hospital Jacobabad. She was treated and examined by female medical officer at JIMS.
District and Session Judge Jacobabad ordered constitution of three members JIT including a Lady Police officer and two DSP level officers.
He also ordered the JIT to furnish a report to his office within two weeks with medical and other evidence. The judge also ordered SHO Kashmore Sub-Inspector Muhammad Saifal Jakharo to conduct an impartial investigation. The court also ordered the police to handover the victim to her father with the consent of the victim.
