Raise in federal employees’ rent ceiling proposed
Estate Office has conducted this survey under directions of Ministry of Housing and Construction
ISLAMABAD: It is important news for federal employees that the Estate Office has completed the survey of three big cities Islamabad, Karachi and Quetta to increase the rental ceiling in view of a hike in rent rates and submitted its recommendations to the Ministry of Housing.
After the survey report of two cities, Lahore and Peshawar, the Ministry of Housing will review these proposals and send its summary to the Prime Minister for approval. The Estate Office has conducted this survey under the directions of the Ministry of Housing and Construction.
According to sources, the report sent by the Estate Office has recorded the current rate of rent and suggested an increase in the light of the rent survey. In the light of the survey of Islamabad, it has been suggested that the rental ceiling of grade 1 and 2 employees should be increased from Rs7029 to Rs10192; from Rs10,980 to Rs15,921 for grades 3 to 6; from Rs16,403 to Rs23,784 for grade 7 to 10; from Rs24,744 to rs35,878 for grade 11 to 13; from 31,085 to Rs45,073 for grade 14 to 16; from Rs41,147 to Rs59663 for grade 17 and 18; from Rs46,816 to Rs65,442 for grade 19; from Rs59,079 to Rs82,711 Rs for grade 20; from Rs71,107 to Rs99,550 for grade 21 and from Rs89,230 to Rs124,922 for grade 22.
In the light of the survey for Karachi, it has been suggested that the ceiling of grade 1 to 2 should be from Rs6,591 to Rs9,557; from Rs9,654 to Rs13,998 for grades 3 to 5; from Rs14,682 to Rs21,289 for grade 7 to 10; from Rs21,462 to Rs31,120 for grade 11 to 13; from Rs27,134 to Rs39,344 for grade 14 to 16; from Rs35,898 to Rs52,052 for grade 17 and 18; from Rs46,816 to Rs67,883 for grade 19; from Rs59,079 to Rs85,665 for grade 20; from Rs71,107 to Rs103,105 for grade 21 and from Rs89,230 to Rs129,384 for grade 22.
