PESHAWAR: Paramedics across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have launched a province-wide protest movement against the government’s
decision to merge the Pakistan Allied Health Professional Council with the Pakistan Nursing Council, citing concerns over professional representation and
governance.
The Paramedical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a meeting, announced a series of protests, which include displaying banners outside hospitals, holding symbolic strikes, and staging demonstrations outside press clubs across the province. The paramedics are demanding either the restoration of the Pakistan Allied Health Professional Council or the merger of all health-related councils into a single, unified Pakistan Health Council.
Secretary General Paramedics Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Luqman Gul Orakzai stated, “If the government fails to address our demands, we will be left with no choice but to escalate our protests.” The All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation has also extended its support to the movement, amplifying the scope and intensity of the protests.
