SUKKUR: The polio worker, who was allegedly assaulted in Jacobabad a day ago, has retracted her earlier statement and instead filed a case of robbery and threats on Thursday.
Police registered a case on the victim polio worker’s compliant with FIR no 45/2024 U/S 393, 506/2 PPC of death threats.
The worker, in her FIR registered at Mouladad Police Station, maintained that she was performing her duty in village Allah Bux Jakhrani when accused Aunb Jakhrani held her hostage at gunpoint in an empty house, deprived her of her belongings and then issued murder threats to keep her mum. Later, the accused escaped.
The victim polio worker further maintained that her co-worker informed the authorities regarding the incident who rushed to the scene and shifted her to a hospital for medical examination.
Meanwhile, Jacobabad district and sessions judge, taking notice of the incident, has summoned the Jacobabad SSP, DHO and SHO along with a report on September 13.
The court also asked them to produce the victim polio worker. The court ordered the SSP to produce a report on the security provided to the polio worker and the names of the personnel tasked with providing security to the polio team which was assaulted. The SSP was also ordered to ensure presence of Mouladad Police Station SHO along with the FIR and medical report.
