President Asif Ali Zardari has directed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to expedite the pace of under-construction development projects in the province.
During a meeting at the Presidency in Islamabad on Thursday, the president asked the CM to further expand the scope of the solar energy project to cover a large number of low-income families in the province.
The meeting was also attended by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Sports, Agriculture and Anti-Corruption Minister Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar. The meeting discussed the ongoing uplift projects in the province.
Shah briefed Zardari on the damages caused by the recent heavy monsoon rains in the province. He also informed him about the issues related to the MNV drain. The CM said that it was Wapda’s duty to remove defects in the drain.
Shah also gave a briefing on the social protection programmes launched on the directives of the PPP chief. The president asked the CM to expedite the pace of the development projects.
