Girls shine as 8 boards in KP announce HSSC results

PESHAWAR/ABBOTTABAD: The results of higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) examinations were declared simultaneously by the eight educational boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a ceremony for the position holder students in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abbottabad on Thursday.

From the BISE Peshawar a total of 61217 students appeared in the Part-II of the HSSC examination of whom 56117 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 92. Similarly, 62886 students appeared in the Part-I of the examination from Peshawar board and 50207 of them qualified it with a pass percentage of 79.83. The pass percentage of the Part-I students has, however, been wrongly mentioned in the official brief as 99.1.

The top positions in the Peshawar Board were overwhelmingly clinched by girl students. All the three overall top opposition holders were girls, while among the remaining nine discipline-wise position holders six were girls and only three were boys.

Khansa Bibi, daughter of Ghulam Mustafa, a student of Forward Girls College Hayatabad, topped the board by obtaining 1166 of the total 1200 marks. Yuman Tayyab, daughter of Mohammad Tayyab Anwar and Eman Khalid, daughter of Mohammad Khalid, both the students of Jinnah College for Women University of Peshawar secured the second and third positions with 1162 and 1160 marks, respectively.

The top two positions in the pre-engineering discipline went to the students of Hadaf Higher Secondary School for Girls Peshawar, while a female student of the Peace School and College Charsadda bagged third positions. They include Khansa Khan, daughter of Ghulam Ali who obtained 1146 marks, Noorul Emaan, daughter of Numan Jamil, got 1135 Marks and Shama, daughter of Ilyas Ahmad secured 1131 marks.

The computer science group was topped by Khizra Mukhtiar, daughter of Mukhtiar Ali who bagged 1129 marks. Two male students of Global Degree College of Science and Commerce Tehkal Bala Peshawar, namely Ikramullah Khan, son of Iftikhar Khan and Farhan Ali, son of Ramzan Ali shared the second position by grabbing 1125 marks. Asawir Binte Asif, daughter of Asif Zahoor Khan of Hadaf Higher Secondary School for Girls stood third in the computer science group with 1122 marks.

Saira Gul, daughter of Haji Sartaj Khan and Hafiza Umama Syed, daughter of Syed Jaffar Shah both students of Iqra Huffaz Secondary School and College for Girls Warsak Road shared the top position in the humanities group. They obtained 1094 marks. Husna, daughter of Ibrahim of PEF Post Graduate College University Town Peshawar secured 1093 marks to stand second and Hifza Amil, daughter of Amir Altaf scored 1089 marks to get third position in the board.

The lone top position in the Dars-e-Nizami Group went to Jawad Ahmad, son of Saeedur Rahman, a student of Islamia College Peshawar who got 876 marks. Meanwhile, in BISE Abbottabad, a total of 42,329 students appeared in the examination out of which 39806 delcred passed.

In pre-medical group of BISE Abbottabad and as well as in overall, Amna Riaz of Tameer Wattan College Abbottabad got the first position by getting 1137 marks; Sofiia Intikhab of same school got second position with 1136 marks, while Mustabshera Jadoon of Tameer-e-Watan School Abbottabad got third position by getting 1135 marks.
