IGP reviews provincial border check posts’ affairs

LAHORE:The Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, chaired a video link meeting to review professional affairs of provincial border check posts on Thursday.

District Police Officers (DPOs) of DG Khan and Rajanpur briefed the IGP on the manpower, facilities, resources, and challenges at the check-posts. DIG (Operations) Waqas Nazir also attended the meeting.

The IGP directed DPOs to conduct regular inspections of the border check-posts and enhance the infrastructure development and the quality of accommodation and meal facilities for cops. He asked officers stationed at these check-posts to perform duties with more passion and dedication.

IGP approves Rs 2.4 million for cops’ medical treatment

The Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, Thursday approved Rs2.4 million for the medical treatment of officers. The IGP approved Rs1 million for Constable Muhammad Salman Asghar from Sialkot, Rs700,000 for Head Constable Ashfaq Ahmad from Lahore, Rs300,000 for Constable Muhammad Zafarullah, and Rs300,000 for Constable Muhammad Asif from Rawalpindi. The IGP approved Rs100,000 for medical expenses of ASI Qamar Abbas. The cops confronted criminal elements in the line of duty.

Trainee officers visit PSCA office

Officers under the Post-Induction Training Course visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. The trainee officers were given a tour of various departments, including the Virtual Centre for Child Safety and the Women's Police Station. The delegation also reviewed the modern features of the 15 Emergency Helpline Centre and the operations of the Monitoring Centre. The officers were briefed about the working of the Artificial Intelligence Traffic Management System.

PSAs, SSAs regularised

Lahore Police has regularised 179 Police Station Assistants (PSAs) and Senior Station Assistants (SSAs). The decision was made by a board chaired by the CCPO Lahore.

CCPO congratulated the newly-regularised officers and staff, emphasising that regularisation based on merit and seniority is a fundamental right of every employee and should be granted without delay.
