A huge fire broke out at a shop selling petrol in a residential building in Shah Faisal Colony No. 3. Luckily, the blaze had been brought under control and no loss of life had been reported till the filing of this report late on Wednesday night.
Responding to information, fire tenders and rescue teams immediately arrived. A fire brigade official said they had moved five fire tenders to the scene and they were engaged in efforts to put out the blaze.
People residing in the building were moved to safety. A person who had fallen unconscious was taken to hospital.
Officials said three shops, including an oil shop and a barber shop, were running at the building. The blaze started in cans kept in the oil shop. They added the fire had been brought under control after efforts of around two hours. A flat on the first floor was affected.
Police said they were waiting for a report from the fire office brigade, after which they would start the legal procedure. A search for the shop owner is on and a case has been reported at the police station.
