MANSEHRA: The Tehsil Council on Wednesday demanded the federal government ensure a free-of-cost electricity to the people of Balakot from two hydropower projects being built on the Kunhar River here.
“The government has supplied free electricity to the natives where energy projects have been completed in the rest of the province. And the dwellers of Balakot should also be given the facility,” Ibrahim Shah, the tehsil chairman, told the council.
The session was held on a single-point agenda of seeking free-of-cost electricity for the people of Balakot.“We have rendered great sacrifices and it is our right to enjoy free electricity from Suki Kinari and Balakot Hydropower projects being built on Kunhar River in our tehsil,” Shah said.
