Raids conducted by the authorities on dairy vendors and hotels in Dadu revealed that the milk being sold contained various harmful chemicals, which may cause cancer. As a result, several dairy shops and hotels were penalized and sealed. However, it is alarming that despite the penalties and the publication of a list of these vendors, many of them were allowed to reopen and continue their business. They were closed, reopened, and shut down again, yet now they are operating as usual, benefiting from their market influence. This should not go on for long.
The public continues to face a serious issue when it comes to accessing hygienic milk, which is a basic necessity. The authorities concerned must take deterrent actions and measures so that people may avoid purchasing unhygienic milk for themselves and their children. Inspection teams should be sent on a weekly basis to check the quality of milk. Profiteers should not be allowed to play with people's lives.
