LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House has become a haven for terrorists.

Speaking to media after her appearance in the Lahore High Court on Tuesday, she said Ali Amin Gandapur was issuing threats and using the language of terrorists, which was unacceptable. She emphasized that they did not wish to create conflict among the provinces, as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also their province, and Punjab always played the role of elder brother.

She said Tuesday marked her sixth or seventh appearance before the court, but her case was being postponed repeatedly. Her case is not person-specific or political, it’s the case of all women who are affected by social media. The FIA’s capacity has proven insufficient, as they could not delete even a single fake video. If an app cannot be managed, it should be shut down. She criticized the FIA for claiming that they wrote to Facebook, but received no response, suggesting that any institution failing to respond in Pakistan should be held accountable.

She said while social media apps around the world operated under laws and regulations, the situation in Pakistan was different, where anyone could say anything without fearing consequences. She requested the chief justice of the Peshawar High Court to take action against terrorists and troublemakers hiding in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.

She said people hiding in the KP House were not serving the state of Pakistan, but mocking it instead.
