Islamabad:The National Logistics Corporation (NLC), in collaboration with the International Road Transport Union (IRU), organised an extensive training session focused on crash prevention and defensive driving, says a press release.
Held from August 26-29 at the Applied Technologies Institute of NLC (ATIN) in Dina, the session was conducted by Mr. Robert Gideon Makondo, a professional IRU consultant, and adhered to international industry standards through the “Train the Trainer” (TTT) programme.
The four-day training combined theoretical knowledge with practical skills, equipping participants with essential expertise in crash prevention and defensive driving techniques. By blending classroom instruction with hands-on vehicle training, the program aims to develop skilled trainers who can implement best practices in road safety.
Participants covered critical topics such as the effects of speed, the dynamics of commercial vehicle accidents, and advancements in vehicle safety.
With the introduction of this programme, ATIN Dina is set to become an accredited IRU training centre. This certification will provide drivers with international exposure, enhancing their employability in both domestic and global markets.
