PESHAWAR: A Child Protection Court here on Monday sentenced a 65-year-old man to life imprisonment and fined him Rs1 million after he was convicted of raping a seven-year-old girl.
The accused, Mukarram Shah, a resident of Pir Bala village in Peshawar, was convicted as the court found sufficient evidence, which proved his involvement in the crime.The incident occurred on June 22, 2023, in Pir Bala village in Peshawar. Following the assault, a case was registered at the Machni Gate Police Station.
During the trial, Public Prosecutor Arif Bilal representing the state produced solid evidence in the court, including the medical report of the victim, which corroborated the allegations.Arif Bilal argued that the evidence connected the accused to the commission of the crime. After hearing the arguments and reviewing the evidence, the court sentenced Mukarram Shah to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs1 million.
