FC soldier martyred in clash with Afghan Taliban
PARACHINAR: A subedar of Frontier Corps (FC) was martyred and another soldier injured in a clash between Afghan Taliban and Pakistani security forces near the Pak-Afghan border in Kurram district.
Over the past 24 hours, two security personnel lost lives and five others were injured in separate firefights.Meanwhile, eight Taliban fighters, including two commanders, were also reported killed in the clashes.
Police sources said that the skirmishes erupted in the Shorki area of Kurram tribal district due to a dispute over the construction of new checkposts along the border.The latest incident claimed the life of Subedar Muhammad Ali while another soldier was wounded.
This marks the third incident in a week along the Pak-Afghan border, as tensions over the construction of security posts continue to flare between Afghan Taliban fighters and Pakistani security forces.
