ISLAMABAD: Illegal constructions are being made on the valuable land of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in Nankana Sahib with the connivance of staff of the department.
This was revealed in a letter sent by Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib to the ETPB along with an intelligence report.
The 12-page report stated the area of Auqaf Department in District Nankana Sahib is 18,215 acres. The report mentions the names of officials of ETPB and Revenue Department with the connivance of whom lands worth millions of rupees were being sold illegally. “The areas are being encroached upon and illegal constructions going on,” the report says.
According to the report, the area of Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Gurdwara Haela and Gurdwara Manji is 16,391 acres and the area of other villages is 1,824 acres. The intelligence report has named several property dealers who are selling the government land with the connivance of ETPB officers.
Small-sized plots of two to ten marla have been created, while some larger-sized plots have been occupied. Houses and plazas have been constructed on these plots whose pictures were also attached with the report.
