LAHORE:The prices of majority of perishable items increased this week while the district management failed to implement its own issued rates as open violation of the official price list persisted across the provincial metropolis.
Besides, violation of fruits and vegetables rates, the milk, and meat sellers are also violating the rate list without any fear. Some of the sellers openly said that they pay ‘monthly’ to officers concerned so get a free hand to sell the milk and meat higher the official rates. This openly challenges the writ of the government and exposes the weakest governance by the deputy commissioner and its team of assistant commissioners who all are fond of showing the performance on the social media platforms.
